About the Author
Haley is a student at the University at Albany, where she studies psychology and Spanish as a double major, with minors in business and neuroscience. Her passion about the field of psychology is very influential in her writing, as most of her works have revolved around mental health.
She firmly believes that the best way to reduce the stigmas surrounding mental illness is to make this topic more accessible to everyone. In order to do this, it is essential that we do not shy away from difficult conversations. Rather, we should use our own experiences to better connect with those around us.
The more that we talk about these difficult topics, the less stigma there will be regarding mental health. With the reduction of stigma comes a healthier society that feels empowered and able to reach out for help when it is necessary.
Haley hopes that in reading her writing, you will understand that you are not alone in your struggles. Mental illness is a challenge best faced together, and the more it is discussed, the less stigma there will be. Always remember that you are loved, you are valued, and you are important.
